FRIENDS OF THE SHELTER, INC (FOTS) was founded by a small group of people who saw the need to help local shelters improve the care and living conditions for the animals in their care. Since that time, these shelters have improved their facilities and developed programs designed to encourage adoptions and save more lives.

FOTS has increasingly focused on preventing animals from entering shelters by promoting low cost spay/neuter programs in the community. As a 501(c)(3) organization, FOTS applies for grants to pay for spay/neuter and holds fundraisers. But another necessary source of funding is the support of members; people who share our dream of a day when there are no more homeless animals in our community.

Friends of the Shelter subsidizes spay/neuter costs for those in the community who would otherwise be unable to afford this important service. We offer services to individuals in Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton and Pendleton counties.

Our funding and how you can help

As a 501(c)(3) organization, FOTS applies for grants to pay for our spay/ neuter program and holds fundraisers. But another necessary source of funding is the support of members; people who share our dream of a day when there are no more homeless pets in our community.
